Estate Administration refers to the legal services required to settle a person's
affairs after death.  The firm's familiarity with the day-to-day operations of the
Courts enables us to help clients navigate this often difficult process as
smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Whether a person dies with a Will or without a Will ("intestate"), a Court
proceeding must be commenced to have an individual appointed by the court
to represent the estate of the deceased.  We assist clients named as
Executors in probating the Will or, if there is no Will, filing an "administration"
proceeding in the Surrogate's Court.  In either case, we guide clients
appointed as Executors or Administrators through the necessary processes of
collecting, inventorying and evaluation of assets; sale of decedent's real
estate and other assets; record keeping; payment of expenses, debts and
legacies; filing tax returns, and filing of Surrogate's Court inventory.
